Group Meditation

There are two basic types of group meditations: circular and linear. Group meditations are fun and assist in building bonds between people. Meditation is not always a private event. Many people can meditate together.

Small groups optimize a meditation by sitting in a circle as everyone is side-by-side or across from each other. However, the person sitting closest is the person you will feel and interacting with the most.

There are three positions: sitting, heads towards each other and feet towards each other. When sitting, the chakras are aligned across the body. An object can be placing in the center so it is equally viewed by everyone.

When focusing on an intellectual ideal lay with the crown towards each other. This creates a union between minds. Remember to strengthen the base before and when using this form. It is important to retain a bond with the earth.

When focusing on opening chakras lay with feet towards each other. The main inflow of energy comes in through the violet charka; to promote a flow of energy from the universe and unite through the feet. The red and green chakras also draw in energy from the earth. Therefore, it is a balanced way of re-energizing the spirit.

It is good to sit next to different people. Directions, such as: North, South, East and West have unique vibrations affecting on the spirit. South is represented by fire; East by abstract thought; North by solidarity, and West by emotional warmth. North-East, South-West and so-on, also take on various properties.

Mass meditation is linear. Everyone faces or lays down in the same direction; imagine how Muslims pray at a mosque. They all face the direction of the Temple in Lebanon. In these cases smaller groups form between individuals who are closest to them, while still engaging with the entire group. Another aspect is how close or distant the focal point or object is depending on where they sit.

Stronger auras may dominate a group though they are not designated leaders. Their energy transcends others and become a focal point for the group. This can be good or bad. If a dominate person spreads undesirable energy, a smaller group can over-throw the dominate personality by uniting with people closer to them and spreading the nuance through the group. Everyone is bonding at a deep level.

Another companion to the group meditation is gaining understanding with everyone in different ways. In the case of basic meditation, people accept the world the way it is. In a group meditation there is an additional level of accepting everyone in the group the way they are. People in the group will realize how they feel towards everyone and relate to everyone in correspondence to themselves.

This can be an eye-opening experience. People who feel confident within the group find new way to continue as they had before. People who feel odd or insecure within the group will want to find them self. This may equate to leaving the group.

Remember there is a close bond. That bond will remain. Finding out someone is unhappy and wants to find a personal identity might be shocking. In order to make sure the friendship doesn't die during a moderately long-term voyage I have tips to ensure everyone's happiness.

Acknowledge remaining in the group is good, finding your self is also good. This is not a "forever" situation. When they find what they are looking for, they will return. Friends want to hold on to each other forever. Fear of losing someone can be caustic. However, try to contact them on occasion and inquire on how they are doing. This reminds them of your friendship so they are more likely to return one day.

You may wonder how to organize a meditation group and share this experience with other people? I recommend the circle between close friends to promote equality between everyone.
