Safety Tips

In basic meditations we are not trying to change ourselves or the world around us. It focuses enhancing reality. However, any meditation makes the mind susceptible to outside influences. Deep meditation is hypnotic. The mind is conscious though relaxed like living in a dream.

Do not try any major meditations before going out into chaotic situations. It is better to meditate before going to bed or on a relaxed day with few distractions. If a thought is implanted during this time, the only way to release the thought is to analyze it through deep meditation. When a conclusion is reached it is released.

Words and situations carry a greater degree of thought; therefore, hearing negative or unexpected statements lingers in the mind longer and has long lasting effects. When in a normal frame of mind influences are easily filtered and released. Wait at least an hour before getting back to a normal schedule.

The meditations I have chosen are for healing and strengthening the soul. There are many books with several teachings for finding harmony. "The New Meditation Book" is an example of an on-going meditation through several steps. These are worthwhile; however, it is a long process and built for mental healing not channeling energy.

Becoming aware of your self and the world is an involved experience. Sensory development for sight, sound, taste, touch and smell involves the realization that the world is not quite what we perceive. The "Ying-Yang Meditation" generates epiphany beyond judgment. This can shake the core of a person's being. Remember to keep things in balance.

Another tip for dealing with having greater awareness is to be aware chakras flow back to the natural point. If you are a brainy person the energy will flow to where it is used most, the brain. If you are an athletic person the energy will flow to the physical chakras. Maintaining balance means keeping everything open without retaining the meditative state.

People naturally touch chakras when out-of-balance. This helps relieve nerves. Rubbing your feet corresponds to red; knees to orange; hips to orange; folding arms across the lower ribs to yellow; rubbing shoulders to green; folding hands behind the neck to celestial blue; touching prayer hands to the chin to indigo, and holding hands together with index fingers pointing above the third eye to violet.

This is fine. It is like a subtle, "warm up." However, thoughts are enhanced during these situations. Think of something neutral like the color of the chakra. The mind is constantly correcting flow of energy. A brainy person should rub their feet occasionally. Follow the touch points down to the feet to re-energize the body.

If you are an athlete the indigo and violet chakras are allusive. Take the time to follow the touch points up to violet chakra when feeling dizzy. This helps relieve tension and bring the body and mind into focus. It doesn't take long, only a few deep breathes. Breathe in through the mouth and exhale through the nose. Touch meditation are quick and simple, so they can be used at any time, as opposed to deep meditation.

Understanding these safety tips assists in enhancing meditation. After leaving the perceived world and becoming conscious of the real world, even breathing becomes a conscious event. This does not dismiss the importance of breathing.
