Keywords: Activity, energy, confidence, self-esteem, extremes
Color: Yellow
Mantra: Ham or Hoom similar to "hoop"
Note: E
Stone: Citrine, fire opal, pyrite, gold and tiger's eye
Location: Below the rib cage
The basic form for activating the yellow chakra is lying down and touching the toes together. Keep the legs long and straight. Bring the points of the fingers together forming a pyramid. The pyramid points outward from the lower rib cage. Do not let the thumbs touch. They should be close together but not touching. The fingers remain rigid with the fingers closely held together or touching.
Start the meditation by chanting the mantra repeatedly in the corresponding note "E." Place yellow objects within view to focus onto or wear yellow clothing. Listening to music composed in the scale of "E" can be useful, since not everyone is inclined to sing.
The stones should be held below the sternum on a nonmetallic string. The positioning of it may be difficult. However, it is not amazingly important. Going slightly lower or higher is still valid. Shift to a yellow-orange or yellow-green are still beneficial. Historically the Egyptians valued blue-green, represented by "F#," above all other colors.
When a person is feeling down, unconfident and in need of an extra boost; stimulating the yellow chakra is an excellent way to increasing confidence. Often people feel inhibited in group sports. This reinforces self-esteem so self image isn't as restrictive.
