Spirituality in Daily Life

Often memory is important when attempting to understand spiritual messages and larger concepts. Often religion has a diversity of logical progressions, yet there is an underlying spiritual message. These messages touch the soul with a sense of understanding, yet it is tricky placing these ideas into words though understanding how it heals the mind and brings about a sense of joy. There are three major ways of carrying lofty spiritual messages into daily life: reading random quotes, abstracting concepts and applying to life.

As Lao Tzu states, "the highest good is like water." While we climb to highest levels of spiritually (intellectual chakras), yet we live in the world and have worldly needs (physical chakras). In meditation we seek to open and understand both intellectual and physical chakras. This how many perceive religious thought.

With a Christian upbringing, it is common to buy Angel Cards or open the Bible randomly to select a quote for meditation. With allusion the random selection has something to do with current or upcoming events the person focuses on every word. This is magical thinking; however, thinking it will be important encourages individuals to focus on quotes to understand its meaning. This assists in memorizing text when applying it to life. This method is also useful in reading and understanding any religion or memorizing useful information. During several years deeper meaning and sudden understanding unfolds. This is why most people agree these religions and philosophies are wise.

Recommending people read a book in its entirety, it is easier to make correlations and clarify statements. Similar to watching a television program it takes a few minutes before the story answers to questions complete the plotline. This is effective. I have noticed, depending on age and experience, overall interpretation changes. A person might say interpretations are expansive and only accessible to those who have life experience and wider range of knowledge; however, a person might relate differently depending on current occurrences and fresh thoughts in their mind. When utilizing information with concern for social and personal wellbeing there are no wrong answers.

Realistically randomness of opening a book is reminiscent of fortunetelling. It is difficult reading large amounts of text. The mind drifts or fixates on one premise making it difficult to accept new information without relation to previous text. Randomly picking a quote allows a person to focus on an individual thought. In the greater scheme of life circumstances reoccur until resolved. The most useful information is spontaneous without making life fit the quote, but finding the quote that fits life.
